In 2016 BuddingTech, MGC Pharmaceuticals and the University of Sydney Business School published two white papers on medical cannabis.

Released in March 2016, the Medical Cannabis in Australia: Science, Regulation & Industry paper sets out the key challenges, risks and opportunities associated with establishing a national medicinal cannabis scheme in Australia.

Released in September 2016, the Clinical Evidence for Medicinal Cannabis: Epilepsy, Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis paper explores sources of evidence from animal trials, uncontrolled & small clinical studies, and model-based evidence.

Medical Cannabis Sentiment Analysis Survey

Following the release of the Medical Cannabis In Australia: Science, Regulation & Industry paper, BuddingTech, in collaboration with MGC Pharmaceuticals and the University of Sydney Business School, created a medical cannabis sentiment survey to gain a comprehensive understanding of how specific Australian's view the medicinal cannabis in Australia. We would be very grateful if you could kindly complete the short survey for our research. We believe, with your help, this research will provide an unprecedented, unique and valuable insight into the medicinal cannabis industry.

Why Medical Cannabis

Over the past decade, medical cannabis has become widely accepted as an natural alternative medicine for those who can't be sufficiently helped with current pharmaceutical drugs. Many studies, and more recently clinical trials, are showing that medical cannabis presents significant health benefits to patients for a range of illnesses.

Medical Cannabis contains a number of Cannabinoids, which are chemicals unique to the plant. Our primary focus is Cannabidiol (CBD), the cannabinoid compound known for it's medical benefits. CBD has a wide scope of medical applications for patients seeking anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic, and/or anti-spasm effects without any psychoactive effects. In addition to this CBD does not have the psychoactivity of THC (another type of cannabinoid).

Medical Cannabis & The Human Body

The Sativa plant (Cannabis Sativa) has a long history as a medicinal plant and was fundamental in the discovery of the Endocannabinoid system within the human body. Cannabinoid receptors and cannabinoids together constitute the Endocannabinoid system – one of the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health.

The Endocannabinoid system covers all cells and nerves; it is the messenger of information flowing between our immune system and the central nervous system. It is responsible for neuro-protection, and micro-manages the immune system. This is the primary control system that maintains homeostasis; the stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment. Cannabinoids promote homeostasis at every level of biological life, from the sub-cellular, to the organism.

Medical cannabis is a natural medicine, which has used across the world for thousands of years.
